SWOT analysis
Strengths: The orphanage is located closer to the slum where
many of them are casual labors and they struggle to earn for
their livelihood, many lives there are in poverty. These children
come from that background. Some children were from north Karnataka
where “devadhashi” is practiced. Women from particular
community were forced to serve the devotees of the village
(prostitutes) for the generation. The women were facing societal
rejection and guilt. Four children of the orphanage are from
this back ground. The focus is to break the social stigma
by providing asylum to such children.
Weakness: There is no children home in and around Tiptur
(75 km area) to cater the needs of these abandoned, poverty
ridden, deserted children.
Opportunities: “Karnataka is called as grave yard of
gospel” but we can change this trend by addressing the
problem of people and empathizing with them. Children home
can act as a CHANGE AGENT to influence and bring transformation
in children so that in the future we can envisage a new society
which is build by the principles of GOD. Our desire to see
a new social order developed in our area. This can be fulfilled
through our children’s home.
Threats: The entire vision may not be carried out if the
Mission is not adequately supported by financial matters.
So many orphans’ children’s cry may go unheard
if we fail to give the helping hand. “Transformation
of the society will be a distant dream, until it starts from
oneself. “
